COMBAT TESTED GAMING BY THE VFW
The VFW, America’s largest organization of combat veterans has teamed up with KC Crew to offer our nation’s veterans a seamless and innovative way to connect – Combat Tested Gaming leagues!
Gaming and the connectivity it brings has proven to enhance veterans’ mental well-being through social engagement and skill development in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through these leagues, we’re calling on all service members and veterans to join in on the gaming action, build camaraderie and have fun doing it.
Join us for the first-ever VFW Combat Tested Gaming league presented by veteran-owned KC Crew, the largest adult sports league in Kansas City.

STEP 1
- Choose your game and division
- Tuesdays – Rocket League
- Competitive & Social leagues available
- Wednesdays – Call of Duty: Warzone
- Competitive & Social leagues available

- All leagues will begin at 7pm CDT
STEP 2
- Get signed up
- Two registration options:
- Full Team Option – you know and will invite all teammates to register for your team
- Free Agent Option – you don’t have a team but would like to get paired up with other veteran teammates
- If you sign up via the Free Agent Option, a KC Crew rep will reach out once your team is full and connect you with your new teammate(s)
how it works
GENERAL LEAGUE DETAILS
- These leagues are FREE TO PLAY!
- The VFW has graciously covered all player registration fees
- Only service members and veterans will be allowed to play in these leagues
- Each league will be a total of 6 weeks
- 5 weeks of regular season plus a 6th week tournament for the top teams
- Each match will last about 50-60 minutes
- The number of games will vary between Rocket League & Call of Duty: Warzone

- Team registration ends October, 20th 2023
- Leagues begin the week of October 22nd
- Tuesday leagues begin on October 24th
- will not play on Halloween
- Wednesday leagues begin on October 25th
- Tuesday leagues begin on October 24th
- All leagues are completely online
DAY-OF LEAGUE DETAILS
- A link to our Discord channel will be emailed to you and on the schedules for the league
- All teams will report to the channel between 6:45pm-7pm CDT
- A KC Crew rep will be in the channel to answer any questions and ensure matchups are played
- At 7pm CDT, the KC Crew rep in the channel will answer any questions and post the schedule of the matchups
- You will break out to your game channel and play your matchups
- Once all matchups are complete, one person from the match will report the scores in the game channel
- KC Crew will then record all scores in the league schedule

Rocket league
IMPORTANT DATES
Team registration ends October 20th, 2023
Tuesdays at 7pm CDT
- Starts: October 24th, 2023
- Tournament: December 12th, 2023
- No games: October 31st, 2023 or November 21st
DIVISIONS
- 3v3 Mixed Social
- Platinum 2 and below
- 2v2 Mixed Competitive
- Platinum 3 and above

- Each match will consist of 5 total games
- Teams will play all 5 matches each night
- Don’t have a team to sign up with? Sign up through our free agent system and we’ll pair you up with a fellow veteran
- League Monitor in discord before, during, and after each match to answer questions, facilitate matchups, and record scores/stats
- All players will need to enter the discord channel before the match to check-in
- One person from each match will take screenshots of each games results and submit them in their game channel after the match is complete
Call of duty: warzone

- Don’t have a team to sign up with? Sign up through our free agent system and we’ll pair you up with a fellow veteran
- League Monitor in discord before, during, and after each match to answer questions, facilitate matchups, and record scores/stats
- All players will need to enter their game channel before the match to check-in
- One person from each match will take screenshots of each games results and submit them in their game channel after the match is complete
what's at stake
The top two teams in each division will qualify for a tournament of champions that will be live-streamed at the 2024 VFW National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky!
FAqs
You will play from home so you must own a console (Playstation, Xbox or PC) and the game you will be playing. Live streaming is welcome!
Veterans who are 18yo and above can play in the league. All systems are all welcome.
All games are played online at the specific time in the schedule. You will join the Discord channel and then breakout to play against your opponent.
All players will report to the Discord channel between 6:45pm-7pm CST. A KC Crew rep will be there each night to facilitate, answer questions and ensure matchups happen.
To report scores or forfeits, report back to the Discord channel. For reporting scores, please add screenshots of the results from each matchup. For forfeits, notify our rep who is running the Discord channel.
To report rule violations, toxic behavior, or match disputes, please notify our league director at events@kccrew.com Keep in mind that this does not guarantee the score being changed as each report will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
