Just a small-town girl living the barbecue dream. Named one of Southern Living’s “Most Influential Women in Southern Barbecue”, Megan Day is Pitmaster and Co-Owner of Kansas City’s premier BBQ competition and food company. Since its founding in 2008, Burnt Finger BBQ has racked up countless awards on the competition barbecue circuit, including 15 State Championships, 1st place chicken at the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, and 2nd place ribs at Memphis in May World Championships. Megan is a Chopped Grill Master’s Champion and is regularly seen promoting barbecue on local and national television, including several appearances on the TODAY Show, Food Network, and many local morning show segments.
Richard’s journey into the world of BBQ began in the kitchen learning how to prepare family favorites with his Mom and Grandmother. Today he still carries on the family secrets and has found a way to stay true to his roots. His love of Italian food opened the door and lead him to his current obsession with smoke and fire.
Richard’s passion, preparation, organization, determination and planning made him a successful wrestler and coach, and now he applies those same attributes and more into the competition cooking arena. His commitment and desire to be the greatest at everything he does has helped make Fergolicious BBQ what it is today.
