Join the American Royal and KC Crew at the World Series of Barbeque for a fun 5k to kick off the BBQ competition! Have you ever wanted to step foot on the track at the Kansas Speedway? Well, now’s your chance to race your way around the track to see just how fast you are – all while taking in the smoky and delicious smells of the world-famous BBQ!

DAY OF INFO

  • Through August 31st – $50 (Children 12 and younger are $45)
  • September 1st – September 30th – $55 (Children 12 and younger are $50)
  • Day of – $40 (Children 12 and younger are $35) AMERICAN ROYAL TICKETS ARE NOT INCLUDED AND MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY. 
  • Packet pickup will be on Friday, September 30th from 4:00-6:30 pm. Location information coming soon.
  • NOTE: Shirt sizes guaranteed to those who order by September 9th. After that, shirt sizes are limited.

No, the 5k is open to both runners and walkers.?

This race will be at the Kansas Speedway and will kick-off before the American Royal BBQ on Saturday, October 1st

You bet! All runners will get a post-race rib!

Of course, we love seeing kids getting involved in activities like this. Registration for kids 12 and under will be $5 off the original price.
This is still TBD. We will make an announcement and add it to the site once we have this information.
No worries, you can pick everything up the day of the race! We ask that all runners are checked in by 9:30am.

You bet there is! There will be post-race yard games set up, BBQ demos, live music and more!

Runners can bring items in with them and you may leave them on the track to pick up after the run.

The American Royal is a non-profit organization based in Kansas City since 1899. We provide opportunities for youth and adults from around the country to compete in our Livestock Show, ProRodeo, and Horse Shows. Many people know us for our World Series of Barbecue®, which is actually our largest fundraiser. Events including the barbecue allow us to give over $1 million annually for youth scholarships and support agriculture education programs.
